In attendance: Max Allstadt, David Beck, Greg Hazel, Seth Henderson, Robbyn Kawaguchi, Kelsen Thompson, Greg Tse
1. Insider Day Workshop – Max spoke to John Scanlon about funding for the workshops. He was told to use AES money for that. However, this would not cover Visual workshops. Also, A.E.S. funds are somewhat hard to get a hold of. Robbyn will ask Chris Coan about funding from the school. Max already has a number of people interested in running a workshop, including, K. Stackpole, S. Orlando, M. Schneider, and B. Rudolph.
2. Tribe.net has not really taken off. Still only about 20 students have joined. We need to get the word out, which is difficult because the administration is hesitant about announcing a forum that may possibly take a negative tone if students use it to merely list complaints about the school. However, so far, the postings have had a positive vibe to them. The administration will be approached about S.A.C. being able to announce the Ex’pression tribe via flyers and announcements.
David stated that he has run several message boards in the past and would be happy to create and run one that may appeal more to the students. Main issue would be how to pay for the domain and hosting services
3. S.A.C. would still like to pursue the idea of a movie night in Meyer. Robbyn will inquire to see if this is a possibility and how we can make this happen
4. Greg would like a search function on the Ex’pression schedule site (DAISY). He said he could write a program for such a function if needed.
5. Max inquired about more wireless coverage. Currently, the café is the only place with coverage. It would be great to have it in the new building, as well as the other ends of the main building.
6. S.A.C. members would like to see the following added to the library: Copies of presentations given by guest speakers at Insiders Day, Grad Reels, MSV movies.
7. Bulletin board space in the café is now at a minimum due to the recent posting of the scheduling chart. It would be great to get additional space. It would also be helpful if flyers were dated so the boards will be easier to maintain. S.A.C. would like to see a separate board for student to post help-needed ads (e.g if visual student needs sound for a project, or sound student needs visuals).
